Sex and the City's Samantha Jones is to appear in prequel series The Carrie Diaries.
The Carrie Diaries - which stars AnnaSophia Robb as a young Carrie Bradshaw - was recently picked up for a second season by The CW.
Fan favourite character Samantha - played by Kim Cattrall in the original Sex and the City - will be introduced as the cousin of high school mean girl Donna LaDonna (Chloe Bridges).
"I'm really, really excited," Robb told TVLine. "I had to keep it a secret, but I think it's going to be so much fun. I'm looking forward to seeing where that goes."
Casting for the young Samantha is yet to be confirmed.
The Carrie Diaries will return to The CW this fall, airing on Fridays at 8/7c.
