Following its highly popular debut season, we now have the first image from comic book adaptation The Boys' second season.

Streaming on Amazon Prime, the show is executive produced by The Lion King's Seth Rogen and Supernatural's Eric Kripke, and follows a group of vigilantes (known as The Boys) who set out to take down corrupt superheroes who abuse their superpowers.

With season one dropping in its entirety just over two weeks ago now, it's safe to say most of us have binged the series and are now waiting for the first teases of season two – and thankfully, Kripke has now helped us out with a new behind-the-scenes picture.

Most of the core cast from season one will return for the second season, and, as you can see in the below tweet, things are already looking pretty bloody for Frenchie (Tomer Kapon), Kimiko (Karen Fukuhara), Hughie (Jack Quadi) and Mother's Milk (Laz Alonso).

"A small token for #TheBoysTV fans," Kripke captioned the photo. "World's first pic of #Season2. As you can see, we're up to our old tricks. If you haven't seen, JOIN US. Streaming now on @PrimeVideo @TheBoysTV #TheBoys #SPN #SPNFamily #Timeless."

Meanwhile, the series, which also stars Karl Urban (Billy Butcher) and Chace Crawford (The Deep), has officially become one of Amazon's most successful shows ever.

Head of Amazon Studios Jennifer Salke announced this week: "We are thrilled that The Boys have surpassed our predictions for viewing in its first two weeks, and has become one of our most watched Amazon Original series by our Prime Video customers [sic].

"This creates great momentum and excitement for us as we get ready for season two."

The Boys season 1 is now available on Amazon Prime Video.
