It's almost Eurovision time, when the world is united for three hours in music and we can't wait. While most people think the show is packed with dated cheesy Euro songs, it couldn't be further from the truth and this year's selection includes some very contemporary-sounding songs indeed.

Not that we want to scare you but there are a whopping 43 countries taking part this year – though only 26 will be in the grand final. To spare you the pain of listening to all of them, we have pulled out 23 of the songs tipped to do well and a few that we just like the sound of.

Check out the ranking below and let us know your thoughts...

Song: 'Our Choice'

Who? Classically trained Ari looks like a member of a boyband who never gets lead vocals.

What's the song like? A solid but ultimately bland piano-driven ballad that Joe McElderry could have sung as an X Factor-winning song.
