RuPaul's Drag Race star Jiggly Caliente has had her leg amputated following a "serious health setback".
A statement shared on Instagram by the star's family said that "due to a severe infection", the drag performer was hospitalised and "lost most of her right leg".
Jiggly Caliente, real name Bianca Castro, is best known for appearing on the fourth season of the award-winning reality TV series RuPaul's Drag Race, the sixth season of RuPaul's Drag Race All Stars, and for judging Drag Race Philippines.
The statement began: "The family of Bianca Castro, known to many as the beloved drag performer Jiggly Caliente, is heartbroken to share that over the last month Bianca has experienced a serious health setback.
"Due to a severe infection, she was hospitalized and, as a result, has undergone the loss of most of her right leg."

They went on to explain that Bianca will not appear on the upcoming season of Drag Race Philippines, and will not be participating in "any public engagements for the foreseeable future".
"Her recovery will be extensive," the post continued. "At this time, we kindly ask for privacy for Bianca and her family as they navigate this difficult journey together.
"While Jiggly concentrates on healing, we invite her friends, fans, and community to uplift her with messages of hope and love on her social media channels.
"Bianca's family and drag house are deeply grateful for the continued outpouring of support, strength, and prayers."

Bianca's fellow Drag Race co-stars including Sasha Velour, Aja, Aquaria, and Courtney Act sent messages of support.
"Sister, I love you more than words can say. You’re always on my mind and I’m sending you all the good thoughts in the world!" Ginger Minj wrote, while Drag Race judge Carson Kressley added: "Sending so much love your way - keeping you close to our hearts."
Brita Filter added: "Love you so much, sis. If you need anything—and I mean anything—you know exactly how to get a hold of this bitch. Even if it’s just a Jollibee run, or if you need to cuss someone out, I got you.
"Sending you all the healing vibes in the world. You are one strong, powerful woman—and you’ve absolutely got this."

Sugarpill Cosmetics founder Amy Doan wrote: "I’m so sorry you are going through this! But so glad you are alive 🥺💖 Sending all my love and wishing you a speedy recovery so I can see that beautiful face again."
