A documentary celebrating the life and career of RuPaul’s Drag Race UK star The Vivienne has been announced.
The beloved drag queen and entertainer, whose real name was James Lee Williams, died in January 2025 at the age of 32.
Produced by Emmy-award winning media company, World of Wonder, Dear Viv will trace the late star’s journey from their childhood in North Wales to success and stardom on Drag Race.
The documentary is set to feature interviews from fellow Drag Race alumni Baga Chipz, Michael Marouli, and Danny Beard.

Announcing the new project, World of Wonder co-founders and executive producers Randy Barbato and Fenton Bailey said: "We want to celebrate The Vivienne's extraordinary life and work so everyone can experience their incredible talent, sass and enormous heart.

Dear Viv will premiere exclusively on streaming service WOW Presents Plus later this year. However, an official release date for the documentary has yet to be confirmed.

The Vivienne famously first shot to stardom in 2019, winning the first ever series of RuPaul’s Drag Race UK.
Memorable moments from the series include their Snatch Game winning performance as Donald Trump and hilarious impression of Kim Woodburn.
As a fan-favourite, they were later welcomed back to the Drag Race franchise for the seventh season of All Stars in 2022. A year later, The Vivienne made history as the first drag performer to compete on Dancing on Ice.
The star then took to the stage in 2024, playing the Wicked Witch of the West in the UK theatre tour of The Wizard of Oz.
Dear Viv will premiere exclusively on WOW Presents Plus later this year.
