The Great British Bake Off star Noel Fielding has debuted a surprise role.

The comedian and presenter, who co-hosts the Channel 4 show, appears in a new music video for artist Luke Spiller.

Best known as the frontman of Derbyshire band The Struts, the singer dropped a lyric video for his solo song 'The Ending Is Always The Same' earlier today.

In the one-take clip, a bearded Fielding is seen sitting on a chair next to a reel-to-reel tape recorder.

There, the star stays largely motionless as events take place around him, including party streamers covering him and a mirrorball and lights flashing behind.

Meanwhile, last month speculation about Fielding's future on Bake Off was was shut down, which came after his Apple TV+ show The Completely Made-up Adventures of Dick Turpin was unexpectedly scrapped despite a previous renewal.

"There has been absolutely no discussion about Noel stepping down from Bake Off," a spokesperson said.

"We have been in contact with Channel 4 and Love Productions throughout all the speculation and his 'stepping down' has never been part of that dialogue. We can confirm he will be returning to co-host the next series of Bake Off."

After debuting early last year, Dick Turpin was renewed for a second run in July, though reports emerged in January that it had been axed.

In other Bake Off news, judge Prue Leith recently shared her reaction to her replacement on the celebrity edition of the show, Caroline Waldegrave OBE.

"Caroline is perfect!" she wrote on her Instagram Stories. "The kindest and most knowledgeable teacher, the bakers and viewers will love her."

The Great British Bake Off and its spin-off Bake Off: An Extra Slice both air on Channel 4 in the UK. In the US, it's known as The Great British Baking Show, and streams on Netflix.
