Joe Lycett has shared an update on fatherhood following the birth of his son.

The former Taskmaster star announced the birth of his baby boy via Instagram last month, where he thanked Birmingham Women's Hospital for their support and said he was "loving being a dad".

Discussing fatherhood in his November newsletter, which is available by signing up on his website, Lycett wrote: "I just want to say a big thank you to everyone who has been so lovely about my news (you may have seen on Instagram or in the press that I have just welcomed a son)."

"Particular thanks to my friends at Attitude Magazine for this article from Lewis Oakley which you might find interesting," he continued. "I’m finding fatherhood to be a total delight."

The comic also assured fans that the announcement of his son's birth is not one of his elaborate pranks.

"And to confirm, he’s defo not a stunt (although I appreciate I’ve cried wolf enough that might not be convincing)," he said, before confirming that he'll be appearing on Rob Beckett and Josh Widdicombe's Parenting Hell podcast "in the near future" to speak more about this new chapter.

The Attitude article Lycett mentions is an opinion piece about bisexual and pansexual men who are in different-sex relationships.

While speaking on The Pieces with Bimini podcast last month, Lycett said it's "interesting" when people find out he's in "a long-term relationship with a woman".

"There was a brief period when I was at school when I thought because I was attracted to men, I was gay, and then I was like, whoa, whoa, whoa, hang on, back track," he recalled.

"I use the term bisexual when anyone asks and I just want to give a quick answer because people understand that. But I think the most accurate way of describing myself is pansexual, in that I’m not attracted to people just because of their gender."
