After nearly a decade in the making, the second season of The Night Manager is on the way, and we finally have our eagerly-anticipated first look at the follow-up series to the acclaimed spy thriller.
Back in April 2024, the BBC announced that two new seasons were on the way, confirming that a second and third season had been ordered.
Now, the BBC and Prime Video have unveiled the first images from the production, with Tom Hiddleston and Olivia Colman at the heart of the drama once again.
In the new pictures, the pair, who portray Jonathan Pine and Angela Burr respectively, can be seen alongside newcomers Camila Morrone and Diego Calva, who have joined the cast as Roxana Bolaños and Teddy Dos Santos.
In addition to Hiddleston and Colman, other returning cast members include Alistair Petrie, Douglas Hodge, Michael Nardone and Noah Jupe, with the latter reprising his role as Daniel Roper.
The first season, which featured Hugh Laurie as arms dealer Richard Roper, was based on John le Carré's 1993 novel of the same name, but the new season will feature a new narrative which expands on the source material.

"Jonathan Pine thought he’d buried his past. Now living as Alex Goodwin - a low-level MI6 officer running a quiet surveillance unit in London - his life is comfortingly uneventful," reads the synopsis.
"Then one night a chance sighting of an old Roper mercenary prompts a call to action and leads Pine to a violent encounter with a new player: Colombian businessman Teddy Dos Santos.
"On this perilous new journey, Pine meets Roxana Bolaños, a businesswoman who reluctantly helps him infiltrate Teddy’s Colombian arms operation. Once in Colombia, Pine is plunged deep into a deadly plot involving arms and training of a guerrilla army.
"As allegiances splinter, Pine races to expose a conspiracy designed to destabilise a nation. And with betrayal at every turn, he must decide whose trust he needs to earn and how far he’s willing to go before it’s too late."
We still don't have a premiere date for the second season, though we do know that it will air on BBC One and BBC iPlayer in the UK. For the rest of the world, it will stream on Prime Video.
The Night Manager season 2 is yet to receive a release date.
