As the weather turns colder in the aftermath of spooky season it can only mean one thing: Christmas is officially on the way.

Before Mariah Carey and Wham! start dominating the airwaves, our TV screens are already beginning to be filled with festive feels as several retailers have begun launching their 2025 Christmas ad campaigns. John Lewis recently unveiled their highly-anticipated holiday advert and the likes of Asda, Boots, Waitrose, Debenhams, Sainsbury's, Marks and Spencer and more have also started the countdown to Christmas.

Waitrose Christmas Ad

Waitrose truly nailed it this year, winning over the hearts of the nation with their adorable rom-com inspired Christmas advert.

Entitled 'The Perfect Gift' the supermarket's festive feel-good ad sees The Celebrity Traitors star Joe Wilkinson and Love Actually's Keira Knightley play unexpected love interests.

The duo instantly spark a connection after a chance meeting at the Waitrose cheese counter and are soon embark on a romantic journey.

After an unfortunate misunderstanding and a grand culinary gesture the couple's story eventually ends with a declaration of love and a smooch in the snow.

Google Pixel Christmas Ad

Speaking of Love Actually stars... Thomas Brodie-Sangster revisits some famous filming locations from the film in the holiday advert for the Google Pixel 10 Pro.

While he attemts to pose for fans of the festive film, members of the public consistently end up snapping a shot of the action going on behind him - cleverly showing off the android's impressive 100x zoom feature.

The commercial is packed-full of Love Actually references and even features a cheeky cameo from Martine McCutcheon.

John Lewis Christmas Ad

Next up, it's possibly the most anticipated of them all – John Lewis. The retail giant is always one to watch at this time of year with several of their past Christmas campaigns being beloved by the nation.

This year they’ve struck an emotional note with an advert that follows the story of a music loving father and son duo.

Featuring the ‘90s dance anthem Where Love Lives, the heartwarming ad explores the true value of a thoughtful Christmas present.

Sharing a powerful message, it ends with the tag line: "If you can’t find the words, find the gift".

Asda Christmas Ad

Moving on to Asda and the supermarket has opted to front its Christmas marketing campaign with a very recognisable character.

Dr Seuss’ iconic green meanie The Grinch leads the advert with a new rendition of 'Let It Snow'.

While The Grinch expresses his struggles of coping with the soaring cost of living, he’s saved by some Christmas hope courtesy of Asda’s prices.

Sainsbury's Christmas Ad

Sainsbury’s have also teamed-up with a famous fictional character this year with Roald Dahl’s beloved Big Friendly Giant spreading some festive cheer.

In the new advert, The BFG is seen helping Sainsbury’s worker Annie protect the public from another giant who is trying to steal the nation’s Christmas dinners.

The advert aims to shine a light on the importance of quality affordable meals. In addition to this, the supermarket has teamed up with Comic Relief to help distribute over five million meals to families battling food poverty.

Debenhams Christmas Ad

Debenhams insist it's never too soon to celebrate the holiday season with their joyous star-studded advert.

The popular retailer has enlisted Olivia Attwood, Judi Love, and Peter Crouch to spread some Christmas cheer this year.

In the festive ad, the trio are seen taking over a street with a Christmas parade while showing off the wide range of gifts available at Debenhams.

Argos Christmas Ad

Over at Argos, The Inbetweeners star Simon Bird takes centre stage in the retailer’s Christmas promotion.

In an unexpected choice, the chain has taken on a thriller-inspired twist for their Christmas advert.

The crime-thriller spoof sees Bird being kidnapped by a couple of toys who are determined to prove "there’s more to Argos".

Thankfully he gets his happily ever after when his loved ones are impressed by his shopping skills as they unwrap their gifts on the big day.

M&S Christmas Ad

Another famous face takes the lead in this year’s ad for M&S. Dawn French is seen as a frustrated driver stuck in Christmas traffic before having her spirits lifted by a festive fairy who guides her to an M&S truck full of tasty treats.

The ad focuses on the festive food on offer at the retailer, including a new range from celebrity chef Tom Kerridge.

The culinary star himself makes a cameo in the advert as another disgruntled driver stuck in the queue of traffic.

Morrisons Christmas ad

Morrisons make it clear it's never too early to start preparing for the festive season as it shows individuals from all around the country sharing their love of the holiday – with some humming Christmas tunes as early as August!

"At Morrisons, we've been growing, making, baking, and crafting for your Christmas all year long," a voiceover says.

The advert also features a new recording of Jona Lewie's beloved Christmas earworm 'Stop the Cavalry'.

Boots Christmas ad

British retailer Boots have opted for a playful twist on the famous fairytale Puss in Boots for their 2025 Christmas ad.

When Puss receives an invitation to the Snow Queen's Ball he speedily rushes out to get some gifts ahead of the event.

Consulting his magic mirror, he's soon directed to Boots where he finds the perfect presents for all his fairytale friends.
