Sky has announced a "bold" new legal thriller with an even bolder title: WAR.

The "scandal-soaked" drama stars Dominic West (The Wire, The Crown) as tech mogul Morgan Henderson, alongside Sienna Miller as international film star Carla Duval, who is also Morgan's ex-wife.

The plot kicks off when a huge divorce case gets everyone talking, and two rival law firms - Cathcarts and Taylor & Byrne - are confident of victory as they go head-to-head.

However, things spiral out of control, and shocking revelations are aired. How far will either side go to win?

In addition to West and Miller, the cast includes Phoebe Fox and James McArdle as personal/business partners at Taylor & Byrne - Serena and Nicholas, respectively.

They appear alongside Nina Sosanya (Beatrice 'Queen Bea' Ubosi) and Pip Torrens (St John Smallwood), whose characters are rivals working at Cathcarts. Meanwhile, Archie Renaux portrays ambitious lawyer Johnny.

What to Read Next

Behind the scenes, we've got Lupin and The Long Shadow's George Kay as creator/showrunner, and Sex Education and Catastrophe's Ben Taylor as director.

Sky and co-producer HBO have already ordered two seasons of the show. However, this plot will only cover season one as WAR will follow an anthology format.

"I am excited to be working with Sky and HBO - two homes for bold, ambitious storytelling - and our brilliant production team," Kay said.

"WAR is a legal drama full of double crossing, scandal, twists and betrayal. The kind of TV show that made me want to write TV shows."

Sky's executive director of original scripted, Meghan Lyvers, said that the show "challenges the notions of power, identity, and success", while HBO head of drama series and films, Francesca Orsi, called it "an inspired fusion of realism and satire".

WAR doesn't currently have a release window yet, but will air on Sky in the UK and HBO in the US.
