Ben Miller has shared an update on beloved crime drama Professor T, set to return to ITV for a fifth instalment soon.

The Death in Paradise star took to Instagram to share a few snaps from the new season, taken by "talented" set photographer Toon Aerts.

Miller is back as our favourite neurodivergent Cambridge criminologist, Professor Jasper Tempest. The character has obsessive compulsive disorder (OCD) and is brilliant at solving puzzles, making his consultancy invaluable to Cambridge police.

In his social media post, Miller announced season 5 of Professor T is one step closer to getting on our screens.

"Last week we wrapped Season 5 of Professor T!" the actor wrote in the caption.

"Another few months spent filming with the most hard working crew and cast who give their all to this show. It's always a pleasure," he added, saying he'll be posting more BTS content in the coming weeks.

There isn't an official release date for season 5 at the moment, but the new episodes are likely to drop later this year or in early 2026.

Alongside Miller, the cast of Professor T also includes Emma Naomi as Detective Inspector Lisa Donckers, a former student of Jasper's who first asks for his help on a case in season one.

The ensemble is rounded out by Frances de la Tour as Jasper's mother, Adelaide Tempest, Juliet Stevenson as Dr Helena Goldberg, and Zoë Wanamaker as the protagonist's aunt, Zelda Radclyffe.

Previously teasing season 5, ITV has promised the new episodes will have "unexpected new relationships and more complex crimes for the Professor and police unit to tackle".

The new cases include a "boxing match that takes a bloody turn" and "a series of inexplicable sudden deaths at an upmarket spa".

All episodes of Professor T are available to stream now on ITVX. A release date for season 5 is TBA.
