A new trailer for the upcoming Outlander prequel has been unveiled.
Blood of my Blood takes place across two different timelines and focuses on the parents of Outlander protagonists Jamie Fraser (Sam Heughan) and Claire Beauchamp (Caitríona Balfe).
In 18th century Scotland, Ellen MacKenzie (Harriet Slater) falls for Brian Fraser (Jamie Roy), a man who happens to be the son of her father's sworn enemy.
Elsewhere, Julia Moriston (Hermione Corfield) and Henry Beauchamp (Jeremy Irvine) fight to keep their romance alive during the terrifying events of World War I.
"After 11 years of epic romance on the groundbreaking series Outlander, the timeless tale continues - or rather begins - on the eve of an earlier Jacobite rebellion," reads the description.

The show will premiere on Starz on 8 August in the US, and will arrive on MGM+ in the UK the following day. New episodes will be available to stream every Friday.
A newly released trailer teases the forbidden romance between Ellen and Brian, as they struggle to keep their feelings a secret.
Fearing the wrath of her family, a heartbroken Ellen vows to stay away from her love. "If my brothers hear the slightest whisper of a Fraser, they'll kill him," she explains.

Meanwhile, the trailer also hints at a time-travel plot, as Julia finds herself in the year 1714 after she and Henry are mysterious separated during a car crash.
"I don't know how I got here. Perhaps I've lost my mind," Julia narrates. "There was a deafening sound and you were gone - or perhaps I was."
In their respective journeys, the couples must "defy the forces that seek to tear them apart, unfolding in surprising and unforeseen ways."
Outlander: Blood of My Blood will premiere on Starz in the US on 8 August, with episodes following weekly. In the UK, the series will air on 9 August on MGM+.
