Emma Corrin and Harris Dickinson's acclaimed murder mystery series is becoming available to stream for free in the UK.

Released in 2023, A Murder at the End of the World stars Corrin as amateur detective Darby Hart. The tech-savvy protagonist is invited alongside another eight guests from various backgrounds to a retreat in Iceland held by reclusive billionaire Andy Ronson (Clive Owen).

The series, which has multiple murders for Darby and Bill (Dickinson) to solve across different timelines, will soon be available to stream for free on ITVX, ITV's streaming platform.

Aired on FX and Hulu in the US, the series premiered in UK on Disney+. Following a licensing agreement between Disney Entertainment and ITV, the network now has the rights to stream the show from 25 May.

Described as a "superb" and "encroaching" watch in Digital Spy's four-star review, the show hails from creative duo Brit Marling and Zal Batmanglij, with Marling also starring in the role of Andy's wife, enigmatic former hacker Lee Andersen.

Marling and Batmanglij previously created The OA for Netflix, a series blending sci-fi and fantasy elements to tell the story of Prairie Johnson (Marling), a woman who resurfaces after going missing for seven years.

Despite critical acclaim and an enthusiastic response from viewers, The OA was cancelled after two seasons in 2019. Fans reacted with a campaign to save the series, which didn't result in the hoped outcome.

Marling posted a statement to thank fans for their support, writing she and Batmanglij were "floored" by the love they'd received.

"Your words and images move us deeply," she wrote on Instagram.

"Not because the show must continue, but because for some people its unexpected cancellation begs larger questions about the role of storytelling and its fate inside late capitalism's push toward consolidation and economies of scale."

A Murder at the End of the World will stream on ITVX in the UK from 25 May. It is also available on Disney+.
