Taskmaster star Frank Skinner has revealed that he secretly married his partner Cath Mason after four rejected proposals.

Speaking on today's episode of his podcast Frank Off The Radio, the comedian and broadcaster shared the news, confirming that he was married in Camden Town Hall with his son Buzz as a witness.

"You'll never guess what I did on Monday, I got married", Skinner told co-hosts Emily Dean and Pierre Novellie, adding: "Don't be offended, we didn't invite anyone".

Previously speaking to The Sun, Skinner revealed that he had asked Mason to marry him four times already, but she turned him down.

Opening up about getting married after 24 years together, Skinner, who appeared on season 1 of Taskmaster, said that Mason was clear about not wanting a traditional wedding.

According to the broadcaster, his now wife told him: "I don't want a load of guests, I'm not going in a church. I don't want a ring."

On the nuptials, Skinner said: "The thing that no one ever says about getting married is it's quite embarrassing," adding: "How can I put it? It's a bit basic getting married."

Describing the moment they walked down the aisle, Skinner said that Mason "wore a flowery dress" and they entered the room while 'Lie Dream Of a Casino Soul' by The Fall played on their son's phone.

"The Fall meant so much to me and Cath when we were in our early days," he said.

Asked why they had decided now was the right time to get married, the comedian said: "I don't know why. I just thought, 'Maybe I've got too much money, I'll give her half in about five years time!'"

Explaining why Mason doesn't want to wear a wedding ring, Skinner said it's because "she doesn't want to feel trapped".
