Murdered by My Boyfriend star on BBC Three axe

Does moving BBC Three online mean viewers will miss out? Murdered by My Boyfriend star Georgina Campbell isn't so sure.

Campbell - who won a BAFTA on Sunday night for her performance in the one-off drama - told press including Digital Spy that other shows could emulate the success of Murdered by My Boyfriend on BBC iPlayer.

"It seems like Murdered by My Boyfriend did really well on iPlayer - it was the most-watched [programme] on iPlayer in the week it came out," the actress said backstage at the House of Fraser BAFTA Television Awards.

"If it did so well for BBC Three - and it was mostly [through] iPlayer - there's no reason why there can't be more shows like this coming from BBC Three, and hopefully they will get the same recognition and the same viewers."

Campbell beat Keeley Hawes (Line of Duty), Sarah Lancashire (Happy Valley) and Sheridan Smith (Cilla) to be named best Leading Actress at the BAFTAs.

However, Murdered by My Boyfriend missed out in the category of Single Drama, which was won by BBC Two's Marvellous.
