Domino Day, which inspired lots of Buffy comparisons when it was first released, has just been added to Netflix.
The BBC series was introduced as a modern-day supernatural witch drama, and centred its lead character Domino (played by Adult Material's Siena Kelly) as she desperately sought guidance on how to harness her powers. She also used dating apps to fulfil her need to suck the life out of people.
Domino Day first aired in 2024 and was created and written by Lauren Sequeira, whose previous credits include Gangs of London.
During an exclusive chat with Digital Spy ahead of its initial release, Sequeira name-checked Buffy the Vampire Slayer, Charmed and True Blood as providing inspiration, while also revealing that there was talk in the writers' room of wanting to approach witches differently from the way those shows had done.
The series is set in Manchester, but it had originally been envisioned in London.
"But when talking to the BBC, they really want to reflect other other cities around the country, and I was like, 'Yeah, I'm up for that. I just need a city', Sequeira explained. "Because if the show was set in a village, the dating pool be a little bit small [Laughs]."

She added that "there's a really cool vibe" in Manchester. "It feels quite Gothic as well, but also modern."
Digital Spy gave Domino Day 4 stars in its review, praising the show's use of metaphors, its queer themes, the casting and its blurred approach to morality.
The BBC series is certified Fresh on Rotten Tomatoes, standing at an 88% rating.
The Times said: "After the initial powerful reveal — that this is a witch who works as a barista in Manchester, being tracked by a coven of witches who are concerned she is harming humans — the plot lost some of its oomph."
The Daily Telegraph added: "All the moody pouting becomes a tad tiresome mid-series but recovers in time for a cathartic finale. As escapist entertainment, it's really rather bewitching."
Fan reactions were mostly positive, with one stating "this show has everything", and another saying it was a "brilliant spin on witches."
"Great cast, great stories amazing special effects. Genuinely original – well done BBC," another praised.
Domino Day aired on BBC Three and is now available on Netflix.
