Martin Compston has confirmed his role in the second season of ITV's Red Eye, teasing a "thrilling ride".
The British's thriller's first season debuted in April 2024, starring Fool Me Once's Richard Armitage as suspect Dr Matthew Nolan opposite Holby City actor Jing Lusi as DS Hana Li.
While ITV confirmed that Lusi's character would return for season two when the series was recommissioned in September, the broadcaster also announced that Armitage will not be appearing in the new season.

It's now been revealed that Lusi will instead star alongside Compston, though his role is being kept under wraps for the time being. However, it's possible he will take on a similar role to that of Armitage's in season one, playing the suspect in a new conspiracy.
Other returning stars include Lesley Sharp as Head of MI5 Madeline Delaney and Jemma Moore as journalist Jess Li.

Lusi added: "I'm incredibly excited to return to the world of Red Eye, and thrilled to be sharing this rollercoaster with the brilliant Martin Compston."
Red Eye season two will consist of six new episodes written and created by Peter A Dowling, with Jingan Young returning to write an episode.
In other news, Compston will next star opposite Anjli Mohindra in Prime Video's new thriller series Fear, which is set to release on the streamer on March 4.
The pair will play couple Martyn and Rebecca, whose calm family life is turned upside down when their new neighbour Jan (Solly McLeod) exhibits increasingly worrying tendencies towards their family.
Red Eye season one is available to stream now on ITVX. Season two is in production.
