Call the Midwife fans were left in tears after a double-death blow in the BBC drama's latest episode.
The penultimate episode followed two recovering addicts, heavily pregnant Jacqui Berridge (Megan Grech) and her husband Laurence (Ryan Hunter) as they prepared to welcome their second child into the world.
While Laurence had managed to stay sober, Jacqui unfortunately succumbed to her heroin addiction over the course of her pregnancy, however vowed to get clean in the days leading up to their son Michael's arrival.

After a difficult birth, which resulted in Michael needing to receive further treatment in hospital, Laurence discovered that Jacqui had relapsed, selling her wedding ring to buy drugs.
During their argument over the situation, a desperate Jacqui pleaded with her husband not to bin her stash of drugs but instead take them with her.

"I would have never have taken it if I hadn't met you," she reminded him and when Laurence insisted that he had moved on from that life for the sake of their family, Jacqui doubled down once more saying: "You could do it with me. You wanted me to take it with you once and I did because I love you and now I'm asking you to take it with me."
Laurence relented off-screen and Sister Veronica (Rebecca Gethings) and Cyril later discover the pair's dead bodies during a routine visit. Their young daughter was left alone.
Fans were left reeling by the emotional storyline branding it an "absolute blinder" on social media.
"What an episode," said a viewer on X. "Exhausted now after all the sobbing!"
Another commented: "This is a hard watch tonight…just so heartbreaking."
Fans also praised the tear-jerker of an episode saying: "Another extremely brave storyline. Very sensitively put together. So sad but beautifully and sympathetically written and acted."
The tragic episode, which followed a fan-favourite death, also concluded Joyce's (Renee Bailey) heartbreaking racial discrimination storyline in which she was absolved of any wrongdoing after a patient's formal complaint threatened her career.
