Death in Paradise star Shantol Jackson has revealed the affectionate nickname the cast use for long-serving cast member Don Warrington.
Episode two of season 14 of the hit BBC drama arrives on screens tonight, with Jackson appearing on The One Show ahead of the broadcast to tease what audiences can expect from the latest instalment.
Talking about the cast's "great banter" during filming, the Detective Sergeant Naomi Thomas actor revealed that Warrington goes by a different name on set.
"He is 'the Don'," she said. "That's actually what we call him."

Former EastEnders star Don Gilet plays DI Mervin Wilson, who was introduced in the show during the 2024 Christmas Special.
Jackson then shared the advice Warrington gave to Gilet ahead of taking over the reins.
"Don [Warrington] has an interesting aura and he'd go 'They won't like you but it's fine, they will like you eventually, but they won't like you in the beginning'," she recalled to The One Show host Alex Jones.

"He's very blunt and he's very honest and I enjoy having conversations with Don [Warrington]," she added.
Discussing Gilet's new character, Jackson teased DI Wilson's initial hesitation to immerse himself into island life.
"He's impatient and refuses to try and to try to at least to adapt to the island and to the police force," she said.
"So in the beginning the relationship is quite shaky but we do understand the bigger picture, we do need a DI and he can get the job done and he does his job well. So we are just trying our best to make it work."
Audiences don't have to wait too much longer to see more of the new DI, with episode two airing at 9pm on BBC One tonight (Friday 7 February).
Death in Paradise and its spin-off, Beyond Paradise, both air on BBC One and stream on BBC iPlayer.
