Irish true crime drama The Vanishings, which has been branded "tasteless" by critics, has become available to stream.
The series is based on the true stories of women who disappeared around the boundaries of Ireland's Leinster region in the 1980s and 1990s.
Known as the Vanishing Triangle, the cases still remain unsolved, with the series focusing on a journalist (Normal People's India Mullen) who looks into the disappearances and posits the same man who killed her mother could be behind the crimes.

Similarly, The i called it "an appallingly crass and exploitative whodunnit", saying adding "the women whose deaths remain unsolved deserve better".
However, in a more positive verdict, the Daily Mail said that if the "drama stayed closer to the real facts, it would be stronger for it" but "there’s enough here to keep [them] gripped".

The show follows journalist Lisa Wallace, who publishes an article about her mother's murder, and "gets a chilling letter from the killer, taunting her with pictures of the murder and of a new victim".
News then comes through of a missing woman called Amy Reynolds, and she works with Detective David Burkely against Garda red tape to investigate the disappearance of more girls.
"Meanwhile, the killer plays psychological torture games with Lisa, making her choose his victims and even threatening her in person. Lisa and David’s path leads them into the crosshairs of the deeply corrupted core of the Garda," the synopsis adds.
"To cover their tracks, high-ranking Garda members blackmail David with his own secrets. This threatens to destroy them both as they get closer to facing off with the killer who murdered Lisa’s mother all those years ago."
The Vanishings is available to stream now on My5, with episodes also airing on Channel 5.
