The BBC has unveiled the first trailer for Motherland spin-off series Amandaland.

The upcoming show focuses on Lucy Punch's fan-favourite character Amanda following her divorce, as she downsizes and continues to raise children Manus and Georgie, now entering their teen years.

The preview of the six-part series has teased some of the antics to come, including continued tension between Amanda and her mother Felicity (Joanna Lumley) and her struggles with her "rapidly growing Instagram start-up".

We are also introduced to Derry Girls star Siobhan McSweeney's new character, as she exclaims towards Amanda's endless slip-ups: "It's like watching a car crash in slow motion."

The series sees Amanda relocate to South Harlesden as her kids join secondary school, though her mother is still around to provide "backhanded compliments and veiled snipes about her new home".

New cast additions include Line of Duty's Rochenda Sandall, Gavin & Stacey's Samuel Anderson, The Gentlemen's Peter Serafinowicz and Harry Potter's Ekow Quartey.

"I was genuinely sad having to say goodbye to Motherland," co-creator Sharon Horgan previously said of the show. "There's such a fondness for that show and those characters.

"So it was a real thrill to get to pick up the further adventures of Amanda and Anne, not to mention Felicity. Lucy, Phillipa and Joanna are top of their game in these roles and are joined by an incredibly funny and talented new cast.

"Can't wait to showcase the next challenges of parenthood and the very particular kind of friendship the school gates bring."

Amandaland premieres on BBC One and BBC iPlayer on Wednesday, February 5.
