The first full trailer for the last ever episode of Gavin and Stacey has been unveiled during the final of Strictly Come Dancing.
The series returns to BBC One and iPlayer on Christmas Day at 9pm for a brand new festive episode which will serve as the series finale.

Following Nessa's appearance, host Claudia Winkleman introduced an exclusive trailer for the Christmas special, which comes five years after the last festive episode in which Nessa propose to Smithy (James Corden) in a shocking cliffhanger ending.
Kicking things off, the new trailer opens with Stacey (Joanna Page) talking to husband Gavin (Mathew Horne) on the phone while he’s at work in a loving nod to how the couple's relationship began in the early 2000s.

Feisty couple Pete (Adrian Scarborough) and Dawn (Julia Davis) also make a special appearance in the trailer and seem to be back to their bickering as Dawn calls Pete a 'despicable little rat'.
Meanwhile, Pam (Alison Steadman) and Mick (Larry Lamb) get the dining table ready for a Christmas feast and, as the trailer shows, both families enjoy a drunken dance in Pam and Mick's Billericay living room.
Per the trailer, the dancing sees Nessa and Smithy getting very close to each other as they enjoy some flirtatious dance moves, leading fans to speculate that Smithy said yes to Nessa's proposal back in 2019. Looks like we'll have to wait 'til Christmas Day to find out...
Gavin & Stacey series 1-3 are available to stream on BBC iPlayer. The Gavin & Stacey 2024 Christmas special will air at 9pm on Christmas Day on BBC One and BBC iPlayer.
