Gangs of London season 2 spoilers follow.
Gangs of London star Lucian Msamati has suggested that Alex Dumani's earth-shattering death will both tear their family apart and pull them together.
In an exclusive chat with Digital Spy, the former Game of Thrones actor, who plays Ed Dumani, was asked how his on-screen son's tragic suicide influences the immediate future.
"Oh, it shapes everything. Absolutely everything," he teased.

"[Ed] not only goes into a personal crisis – a sort of personal journey into the desert for 40 days and 40 nights – he also has to reinvent and reassess his relationship with his daughter. That is incredibly satisfying. I think the fans will be very satisfied [laughs]."

As for how it'll affect his business, is Ed ready to take the bull by the horns now?
"He finds himself... You know, it's a bit of a crossroads, because he's the connection between the old world and the new world," he said. "And even though in the new... the beginning of season 2 finds him very much in the same sort of role, but in very reduced circumstances to what he's been used to for 30 years.
"Let's just say he rediscovers his roots in the best possible way [laughs]."

Also speaking to Digital Spy, Gangs of London creator Corin Hardy previously revealed that Alex won't be the only major loss in season 2.
"I can't tell you who but that's part of the fun. But it's not all about who dies. It's about who survives, and who allies with who, and who makes it through," he said.
Gangs of London season 2 episodes one and two are available to watch now on Sky and NOW.
