Netflix's Extraordinary Attorney Woo is officially the streamer's most-watched title of the past week.

Featuring Park Eun-bin in a star-making role as Woo Young-woo, a talented lawyer on the autism spectrum, the South Korean legal drama's viewing numbers have outperformed those brought in by The Sandman Neil Gaiman's masterful graphic novel adaptation.

According to official streaming data, from August 15-21, Extraordinary Attorney Woo topped the charts with 77.4 million hours, while Sandman came in at a close second with 77.2 million hours.

It was recently reported that there are plans for a second season of Extraordinary Attorney Woo, with Lee Sang-baek, the co-founder of producers AStory, sharing hopes that it will premiere in 2024.

Broadcast ENA, which airs Extraordinary Attorney Woo in South Korea, has also confirmed talks are ongoing about a second season of the show.

Park previously confirmed that she turned down the lead role a few times originally, saying: "I had to think about this being a drama, so there would be some media influence. I did not want to make a bad impact on the ASD (autism spectrum disorder) community."

She added that the show's director Yoo In-shik and writer Moon Ji-won convinced her to accept the role.

Meanwhile Gaiman, who also provided the original source material for American Gods and Good Omens, will be hoping to build upon The Sandman's phenomenal success with a second season renewal.

In a recent Twitter exchange, the author replied to a fan asking why Netflix hasn't greenlit a second season yet, writing: "Because Sandman is a really expensive show. And for Netflix to release the money to let us make another season we have to perform incredibly well.

"So yes, we've been the top show in the world for the last two weeks. That still may not be enough."

The Sandman's lead actor Tom Sturridge exclusively revealed to Digital Spy the measures he put in place to achieve his character's striking appearance.

"There's so many aspects of his physicality that were important to me, simply because he doesn't express himself traditionally, often. And so the way that he moves, I think, could be an enlightening way of how he can articulate himself," said Sturridge.

"I wanted to build a body that felt like a creature and was true to the images that are in the comics."

Extraordinary Attorney Woo and The Sandman are both streaming on Netflix.
