A Discovery of Witches has found its Kit Marlowe ahead of the second series.
The Sky Original show, based on author Deborah Harkness's All Souls Trilogy, has cast Tom Hughes, best known for playing Prince Albert in ITV's royal drama Victoria.

Series star Teresa Palmer, who plays witch-turned-paranormal investigator Diana Bishop, announced the exciting news on Twitter on Friday (August 2).
"Phenomenal actor," she beamed. "We are so excited to have him jump on board A Discovery of Witches season two."
In the All Souls Trilogy, Kit Marlowe is a facsimile of the real-life poet and playwright of the same name, only reimagined as a daemon who also happens to be the best friend of Diana's partner Matthew Clairmont (Matthew Goode).

In addition to Tom Hughes joining the cast, the second series of A Discovery of Witches brings back cast members Alex Kingston (Doctor Who), Owen Teale (Game of Thrones), Lindsay Duncan (Sherlock), Valarie Pettiford (The Blacklist), Trevor Eve (Strike Back) and Aiysha Hart (Line of Duty).
A Discovery of Witches series 2 will air on Sky One and NOWTV next year in the UK, and on BBC America in the US.
