The best Pixel phones have recently been refreshed and the Pixel 9 devices are already a hit. Because of that, we're expecting to see prices fall even further in the coming weeks.
At launch, you would have paid £699 for the Google Pixel 8, while the 8 Pro would set you back £999.

Google Pixel 8 and 8 Pro: What was new?
The Pixel 8 and Pixel 8 Pro have not had a major design refresh in comparison to the Pixel 7, with the duo still having a large camera bump that runs along the entire width of the back panel – a matte aluminium on the standard model and a polished aluminium on the Pro – but Google has confirmed plenty of changes that may tempt you into upgrading.
The standard Pixel 8 now sports a brighter 120Hz display (previously only available in the Pro), so scrolling through apps, games and menus should be smoother than the previous standard and A-series models.
The screen size is slightly smaller (6.2 inches instead of 6.3 inches), so it's a bit more pocketable than its predecessors. It has a bigger battery, a Macro Focus mode that lets you get better close-up photos and new camera features, including enhanced HDR performance.
There's a new 'Magic Editor' mode that uses AI to edit snaps, including resizing objects and tinkering with the background colours. It comes in three colours: Obsidian (black), Rose (pink) and Hazel (green).
The 8 Pro continues to give you the largest display and more powerful innards, but it now has a matte finish on the back that should address the slippiness of previous models. The rear camera now gives you an extra 48MP telephoto lens to play with and – for the first time on a Pixel – there's a dedicated temperature sensor on the back panel.
The Google Pixel 8 Pro comes in three colours: Obsidian (black), Porcelain (white) and Bay (blue).
Setting these handsets apart from the crowd are the Pixel features, like the new Audio Magic Eraser that lets you reduce the noise levels of your video recordings in real time, plus a new "Best Take" mode that lets you switch people's expressions from different photos to help create perfect group pictures.
The two phones launch on the latest Android 14 software and run the third-generation Tensor chip, promising more efficiency and better machine learning smarts than prior models. Oh, and Google is now promising seven years of upgrade support.
If you're on a tight budget, you might be better off taking a look at the more affordable Pixel 7a, or previous-generation handsets like the Pixel 7 or the Pixel 7 Pro.
