Former Neighbours star Kym Valentine has said she'd like to return to the soap, albeit in a different capacity.

Valentine is known for playing the role of Libby Kennedy on the Aussie soap and was last seen on Ramsay Street in 2014. After reuniting with the cast for the show's 40th anniversary, the soap star shared she'd be open to going back to Erinsborough for the right storyline.

"I'd love to come back and do a family violence storyline," she told Inside Soap magazine.

"It doesn't have to be with Libby, I'd be happy to consult and be involved in that way. Neighbours would be a great place to present the reality of this."

Meanwhile, Neighbours has announced the return of a classic character, with Dr Darcy Tyler, played by Mark Raffety, making a comeback for the soap's upcoming 40th anniversary celebrations.
