Having been told by Aaron that he wants to formally adopt Isla, Nicolette insists she needs time to think about it. Her reluctance to agree only reinforces Aaron's suspicions that Nicolette might try to use his unofficial status against him.

Jane has a go at Nicolette, accusing her of being her own worst enemy, and Nicolette fires back, wondering why her mother is never able to take her side in anything.

Nicolette tells Aaron she won't stand in the way of him commencing the adoption proceedings, and assumes this means she can move back into Jane's house. But she's devastated when Aaron tells her that although they've taken a step forward, it will still be a very long time before he can trust her again.

Meanwhile, well aware of the tension between them, Andrew makes an effort and asks Wendy if he can accompany her to the meditation class she's decided to attend.

Sadie is fearful for the future of her parents' relationship and hides in the bushes nearby to spy on Andrew and Wendy. The ice is finally broken between Andrew and Wendy when a relaxed Wendy accidentally passes wind during the class, and the pair are unable to contain their laughter.

They admit they've missed hanging out together, and are startled to see Sadie crashing out of the bushes. Sadie is forced to admit that she was spying on them. Sadie's thrilled to see her parents getting their old groove back, even if it means having to put up with their PDAs.

Wendy, however, has been receiving mysterious phone calls and makes an excuse to slip away. Byron's stunned when he later sees Wendy hugging Quinn… perhaps Andrew and Wendy's relationship is on the rocks, after all.

Elsewhere, Krista has redesigned the Lassiters office, but Paul is unimpressed. Krista offers up several ideas for a charity fundraiser, but Paul is vehemently opposed to all three. Krista challenges him to come up with his own suggestion, and when he doesn't, she's mindful of the advice that Terese gave her – Paul respects those who stand up to him.

Following this advice, Krista makes a call and decides to push ahead with a male revue, knowing that Paul is adamantly opposed to it. Incensed, Paul warns Krista that two can play at this game… and she's subsequently horrified when Paul offers her housemate from hell Nicolette the manager's job at Harold's without consulting Krista.
