Awkwardness lingers between Nicolette and Kiri after recent revelations about how their relationship ended.
Kiri admits to Leo that she thinks working with Nicolette may ultimately prove too complicated after all, but Leo isn't surprised or upset as he's found a wealthy venture capitalist who may step into the breach instead. He now feels this would be a much simpler solution for him.
However, when Byron and Nicolette learn they are likely to be supplanted by the new investor, they are deeply disappointed.
