The morning after being abused by Abe, Cleo finds him acting like nothing has happened. He suggests they both spend the day together. Cleo shows him the bruises he inflicted and heads off to work.
Later, Abe tells Cleo that he has anger issues and begs for her to take him back. Abe appears to have wheedled his way back in, but privately Cleo tells John Paul she needs his help to escape.

Meanwhile, Mercedes tells Joel that Warren is angry he hasn't visited his dad in prison, as he awaits Norma's post-mortem results. Leela mentions that Joel will be drug-tested on his return to work.
Ste asks Leela to check on James but she suggests professional help is needed. Maxine turns up to see James and he works out Ste sent her. James rails at Maxine before walking out. He turns up at the Lomax house and warns Ste to back off.
Mercedes and Joel visit Warren in prison. He tells them he has been set up, but he will find out who did it and deal with them. Warren can tell that Joel is using again. Alone, he begs Mercedes to help Joel get clean. Joel asks Mercedes to help him cheat his drug test.
Leah is the next to try with James and he is touched that she is concerned. He tells her that the pills were just for a headache and he isn't going anywhere. She assures Ste over the situation and Leah looks set to be the one to get them back together.
