Hollyoaks star Matthew James-Bailey has hinted at his character Ethan Williams growing closer to Sienna Blake as the show heads towards Christmas.
The Channel 4 soap has been exploring a chemistry between Ethan and Sienna, who have a love-hate relationship.
Speaking exclusively to Digital Spy on the red carpet at the Inside Soap Awards 2022 this week, Matthew confirmed that he's backing a possible romantic future for the pair.

He told us: "I think Ethan and Sienna both have redeeming qualities. They're both very similar – more similar than they thought at the start.

"Some of the stuff we've been filming is very, very nice. The chemistry between Ethan and Sienna is also very nice. I feel like you'll see some fallout between them very soon but also a lot of nice stuff as well. I ship them!"
Asked to tease this year's Christmas storylines, Matthew replied: "You're going to see some very wholesome content for Ethan and Sienna over Christmas, that's what I would tease."
Hollyoaks is currently exploring a different side to the Chen-Williams family, with hints that Ethan's brother Dave could be hiding secrets.

Recent episodes have revealed that Dave's late wife Flora – the biological mum of Lizzie and Sam – filed a restraining order against him 20 years ago.
Matthew told us: "We all know that Dave has quite a big secret, and I feel like that's going to drop very, very soon. I think people will be very shocked and I think their opinion on Dave will shift quite rapidly.
"At the start, I always felt that Ethan was the rogue one in that family. But I think the longer you watch the Chen-Williams [family], the more you see the dark side of every character.
"That wholesome mask has almost shattered and fallen off. But at the heart of the Chen-Williams, family does always come first in the end."
Hollyoaks streams first on All 4, with new episodes dropping each weekday morning. The show airs Mondays to Fridays at 6.30pm on Channel 4, and at 7pm on E4.
