Hollyoaks spoilers follow.
Trevor A Toussaint has opened up exclusively to Digital Spy about his Hollyoaks co-star Imran Adams's departure from the soap.
The show recently shared the surprising news that Adams would be leaving his role as Mitchell Deveraux later this year "at the end of his current contract", without offering any other details.
When we caught up with his on-screen grandfather Trevor A Toussaint (aka Walter Deveraux), the actor admitted that he was gutted to hear Adams would be departing.
"When I found out he was leaving, I shed a tear. It's very sad," he recalled. "We have worked and we do work very closely with each other, he is a fine young man and a brilliant actor. I think he's got a huge, huge, huge career ahead and I think if he was staying at Hollyoaks, his character would grow and grow and grow.
"I shall miss him dearly. I love working with him. He is very focused on his character and he's really grown that character.

"He loves that character, and I know he is immensely proud of the coming out story – he is incredibly proud of that. It has helped change lives and that is not a flippant statement – it really has. I have received fan mail about it as well and seen lots of posts from people stating that it helped give them the courage to come out. That is down to Imran's performance and what he brings to Mitchell. It's really sad and I will miss him."
Hollyoaks has already lost one member of the Deveraux extended family this week, with Toby (Bobby Gordon) having mistakenly killed Lisa Loveday (Rachel Adedeji) instead of his brother Mitchell.
Toby and his sister Celeste (Andrea Ali) have already set out to cover up the crime, but will police questioning turn up the truth? Or will another family member find out...?
Hollyoaks airs first-look episodes Mondays through Thursdays at 7pm on E4, with repeat screenings airing on Channel 4.
