The ball is officially rolling for the forthcoming Who Shot Mercedes McQueen mystery after tonight’s (November 1) first-look episode of Hollyoaks stepped things up a notch.
Grace Black (Tamara Wall) is furious after Liam Donovan (Jude Monk McGowan) reveals that Mercedes was the one who knocked her over in a hit and run earlier this year.
While Mercedes (Jennifer Metcalfe) tries to play the role of hostess with the most-est at Harry Thompson’s (Parry Glasspool) wake, Grace decides it’s time for the old her to return and vows to show Mercedes who’s boss.
With everyone gathered at The Dog, she plays the confession over the microphone which proves Mercedes framed Harry for the hit and run.
Fans were reeling over the (literal) mic-drop moment, taking to Twitter to share their delight.
Warning: strong language ahead.
What to Read Next
Safe to say that everyone in the village is beside themselves with anger over the revelation, as Mercedes faces an immediate backlash.
The incident sets up a whole host of suspects in the upcoming whodunit, which will see the McQueen sister quite literally in the firing line as all of her lies catch up with her.
As well as Mercedes's husband Sylver, her scorned lover Liam and the late Harry’s boyfriend James – all of whom have been confirmed as official suspects in the storyline – looks like we can add Grace to the list.
Considering the pair never got on in the first place, will she be out for revenge after finding out Mercedes was behind her crash all along? Time will tell.
Hollyoaks airs Mondays through Fridays at 6.30pm on Channel 4, with first-look episodes airing on E4 at 7pm.
