Maxine Minniver got the wedding of her dreams in Hollyoaks, even though her secret was finally exposed to one of her friends.
The truth that Maxine (Nikki Sanderson) has been faking her mystery illnesses was discovered by Sienna Blake (Anna Passey) last week, when Sienna bumped into her while planning her escape with her twins.
Monday's (July 29) first-look episode on E4 began with a tense stand-off between the two women, as Maxine frantically tried convincing Sienna not to go forward with the kidnapping plot.
When Sienna questioned Maxine's fake illnesses, the bride-to-be admitted that she couldn't stop coming up with the fantastical symptoms because she feared Damon (Jacob Roberts) would leave her. Viewers know that Maxine actually has Munchausen's syndrome.
In the end, Maxine agreed not to tell anyone about Sienna's escape plot with the twins if Sienna promised not to spoil her wedding by telling anyone about her lies.
A wrench was eventually thrown into the plan when Brody (Adam Woodward) and Liberty (Jessamy Stoddart) stopped Sienna from leaving with the twins after their au pair convinced her that they weren't Sebastian and Sophie.

As a heartbroken Sienna returned to the chapel, she struggled with standing by while Maxine faked a stumble on her crutches down the aisle — forcing Damon to carry her to the altar.
The officiant soon asked if anyone objected to the marriage. While both Sienna and Dr Levi Rochester (Cerith Flinn) were conflicted, neither came forward with the truth about Maxine.
The couple then exchanged their vows, and Damon struggled to keep his composure while vowing to take care of his bride in her 'final months'.
"I promise to love, care and support you through all the joys and sorrows," he told her through tears. "Make you laugh through the tough times, no matter how tough.
"I promise to live every single day making you happy. It doesn't matter how long we've got because every married moment, I'll remember forever."
Maxine hesitated slightly as she vowed: "I promise to be loving, faithful and honest through the good times and the bad."
With that, the couple were officially married and shared their first kiss as husband and wife. But with Sienna now knowing the truth, how long will Maxine be able to keep up her ruse?
Hollyoaks airs Mondays through Fridays at 6.30pm on Channel 4, with first-look episodes airing on E4 at 7pm.
