Hollyoaks will be saying goodbye to one of its most-loved characters next week as Lily McQueen will pass away after contracting sepsis when one of her wounds gets infected, and, unsurprisingly, Prince McQueen will struggle to cope after Lily's death.

Prince (Malique Thompson-Dwyer) and Lily's (Lauren McQueen) relationship has been rocky in recent months, particularly with the fallout of her complicated love triangle with Prince and Romeo.

Lily's final episodes will see her decide to run away with Romeo while her loved ones desperately try to find her after learning of her sepsis diagnosis, but a new twist has hinted that Lily will second-guess her choice at the eleventh hour.

"Prince is distraught as he feels like he's let her down," Malique said. "He's meant to be there for her and he wasn't. He didn't get there in time to save her.

"He will definitely try and seek revenge. Prince and his emotional self can't control his anger. He can't control his emotions so after this he's going to lose his mind."
