Emmerdale's John chooses surprising target to sabotage Robert

John Sugden continues his sly mission to destroy his brother Robert's reputation on Emmerdale next week – and even draws their young nephew into the evil plan.

Fuelled with jealousy and paranoia over Robert's history with Aaron Dingle, the secret villain is determined to make sure they never reunite.

But will things go John's way when he uses Victoria's 5-year-old son Harry as a pawn in his games?

"John's acting out of pure spite. Robert's the only person in the village who sees through his Mr Nice Guy act, so he'll take any opportunity to discredit him," our Emmerdale source explains.

"But the final straw comes when John catches Robert chatting to Aaron at the café. Aaron is getting back on friendlier terms with his ex-husband, which is enough to send John's suspicions into overdrive."

As John wonders what to do, he finds out that Victoria has persuaded Robert to spend some quality time with Harry. Robert agrees to make more effort as an uncle, but John spots a way to stir up trouble.

Manipulating Harry during a moment alone, John encourages the young boy to make as much noise as possible with his new drum set while Robert is around…

"It's not Robert's finest hour, but let's not forget that he's struggling with PTSD and noise sensitivities following his difficult time in prison. John has shamelessly used Robert's issues to cause a tense situation that could have easily been avoided."

Poor Robert is devastated when a terrified Harry clings to John, who can barely hide how smug he feels over his latest victory.

Later, John seizes the chance to bad-mouth Robert in front of Aaron. Will Aaron fall for it?
