Emmerdale spoilers follow from Monday's episode (February 10), which is available to watch now on streaming service ITVX but hasn't yet aired on ITV1.

Emmerdale has hinted that Tom King could cause more trouble for Belle Dingle.

The ITV soap revisited the former couple's dark storyline in Monday's episode, as Belle reflected on their imminent one-year wedding anniversary.

Tom and Belle tied the knot in Valentine's week last year – much to the delight of their friends and family in the village, who were unaware of Tom's controlling behaviour behind closed doors.

Tom's crimes escalated after the wedding as Emmerdale explored domestic abuse and coercive control within a marriage. The story reached a conclusion in December as Tom was finally jailed.

In Monday's episode, Belle confided in her work colleague Leyla Harding with her plans to divorce Tom now that they're reaching their anniversary.

While chatting at Take A Vow, Belle said: "He's going to fight me on it. I know he will, because he can never make anything easy for me. I'm dreading dealing with it."

Later, Belle expressed similar concerns while having lunch at The Woolpack with her other colleague Suzy Merton.

She predicted: "Tom's going to drag it out. He's going to try and make me suffer because that's what he loves – and I don't know if I can face the fight."

Suzy and Charity Dingle both tried to encourage Belle, pointing out that she has successfully stood up to Tom before and has everyone's support.

Will Belle manage to secure a clean break from Tom and move on with her life?

Emmerdale airs on weeknights at 7.30pm on ITV1, and streams on ITVX.
