Emmerdale spoilers follow.
The weather is about to get chillier – and so is the atmosphere in the Dales, if these brand new Emmerdale teasers are anything to go by.
Digital Spy recently attended a virtual press Q&A with Emmerdale producer Jane Hudson, who shared some big spoilers and secrets about life in the village over the coming months. And so without further ado, here are nine huge stories to watch out for...
1. Moira's dark past is revealed
First up is Moira's big new story – which will kick off when her brother Mackenzie (played by Lawrence Robb) arrives in the village.
As the plot gathers pace, we'll see that it's not just the autumn weather giving Moira the chills – Mackenzie's appearance brings up a very dark secret from her past.
"Moira's brother is arriving and of course he's coming with a secret that you think you're going to find out, but then there will be another revelation further down the line," Jane teased.
What to Read Next
"He's a troublemaker, he's good-looking, he turns heads, he doesn't care what anyone thinks. He's going to mess things up with the Tates and the Dingles, he's a force to be reckoned with."
2. Newcomer Meena causes chaos
Moira isn't the only character faced with her past this autumn, as Manpreet's younger sister Meena (Paige Sandhu) turns up to see her next week.
Described as a "fun and complex" character, Meena will soon be turning Billy Fletcher's head – leaving his ex-girlfriend Dawn seething with jealousy.
"We've got Manpreet's sister – who, again, is not backwards in coming forwards," Jane teased. "She's quite a character and we find out exactly why Manpreet hasn't spoken to her for all these years.
"She gets her own way and goes after what she wants. The men of the village need to watch out, because she's got her sights set on some of them. She's great, so much fun and a real firecracker. We've got a lot coming up for her."
3. Aaron's love woes
Aaron could finally have a reason to smile again this autumn, when he becomes reacquainted with a face from his past.
Simon Lennon has been cast in the role of Ben, who Aaron encounters while working at Hawksford Outdoor Pursuits centre (HOP). It soon transpires that the pair have a history, as Ben is quick to remind Aaron that they already know each other – Aaron used to bully Ben at school for being gay.
Deeply ashamed of this, Aaron is keen to make amends with Ben and hopes their connection could be the start of something special. But is he really ready to move on from the love of his life Robert? That is the all-important question.
"We've got Ben, who is going to be Aaron’s new love interest," Jane confirmed. "That's not going to be the easiest road because it's Aaron and it never is!"
4. Kim Tate is back…
She's been off screen for the last few months, but Kim will soon be back with a bang – and eying up her next conquest.
Kim hasn't been seen since she headed off on a business trip, after being threatened by Andrea Tate. But she'll waste no time in hitting the ground running when she returns – and she's got her eyes on a man.
"She is back on screen next month," Jane said. "We're storylining March at the moment, so she's been back with us ages."
5. A surprise new romance for Kim
The fact that Kim will be eying up her next man upon her return will come as no surprise to Emmerdale fans, but where it goes next just might.
Teasing Kim's next chapter, Jane said: "Kim always has her eye on her next man and there is one lined up and I think that's going to surprise people when they see where Kim goes next!"
Intriguing. Any guesses?
6. Ellis vs Billy
The drama isn't over between brothers Ellis and Billy either, as bosses have promised an epic showdown between them later in the year.
"We've got a huge Ellis/Billy explosion coming up soon which I watched the other week," Jane said. "It's absolutely fantastic. Brothers at war is where we're heading with those two."
7. Tracy's baby story
Tracy and Nate's baby story will continue this autumn, as they prepare for their new arrival next year. Interestingly, though, it's been confirmed that Nate's estranged dad Cain will become embroiled in the lead-up to the inevitably dramatic birth.
"Cain's about to become a grandad again," Jane said. "He's still not on best terms with Nate, so how's that going to pan out? I'm sure you can imagine it won't be a traditional birth."
8. Belle and Jamie twist
Belle is one character to keep an eye on over the autumn months, with bosses promising a huge twist in her and Jamie's ongoing story.
Jane teased that part one of Belle and Jamie's relationship saga "will be coming to a head very soon", hinting that not everything is as it seems with them.
"There will be a twist in there and then it gets worse for Belle for quite some time," she said. "There's a lot more to come in that story, a lot more. Not all is as it seems."
9. A Christmas surprise
Looking beyond autumn and through to Christmas (yes, Christmas!), it looks like fans are in for a real (ahem) cracker of a festive episode.
"Christmas Day, when Christmas Day is over and done with and you've opened all your presents, there's a massive present when Emmerdale comes on," Jane told us.
"There's such a surprise box ready to be opened, I think all the viewers will be watching the screen with their hands over their face going, 'No, I did not see that coming!'
"I can't wait for the Christmas Day episode."
Nor can we!
Emmerdale airs weeknights at 7pm on ITV, with an extra episode at 8pm on Thursdays.
