EastEnders fans can have their say over the soap's best ever storyline – just in time for the soap's 40th anniversary next month.

The team at Inside Soap magazine are giving viewers a rare chance to get involved in the planning for an upcoming celebratory issue, which will look back on the BBC show's rich history.

An exciting edition of Inside Soap next month will look back on 40 of EastEnders' greatest ever plots, including all of the juicy love triangles, important issue-based storylines and gripping whodunits that you'd expect.

However, the die-hard fans on the team are struggling to agree on which story deserves the ultimate accolade of securing the top spot on the list.

Handing the power over to the viewers, Inside Soap is now giving fans the chance to vote online to determine the big winner.

The team have carefully chosen 10 storylines to be in the running for the top spot, but it'll be fans' votes that determine which is named as the best.

You can find the online poll right here. Once you're on the page, choose your favourite and the one with the most votes will be crowned the winner next month.

Plots featured include Den and Angie's dramatic divorce papers moment from 1986 and the gripping Sharongate reveal from 1994.

Other classics in the mix are 'Who Shot Phil?' and Kat and Zoe's unforgettable "You ain't my muvva" scene – both from a golden year for the soap in 2001.

Later plots in the running include Max and Stacey's affair being exposed in 2007 and The Six's shocking killer cover-up in 2023.

Don't worry if your favourite isn't on the list, as it could still feature in the magazine among the bigger list of 40 incredible storylines.

EastEnders airs on Mondays-Thursdays at 7.30pm on BBC One. The show also streams on BBC iPlayer, where most episodes drop early at 6am ahead of their TV broadcast.
