Sullivan has written four other Coronation Street novels since 2017: Christmas On Coronation Street, Mother's Day on Coronation Street, Snow on the Cobbles and The Land Girls from Coronation Street.

Her first Corrie novel, set during the holidays, focuses on the character of Elsie Tanner, née Elsie Grimshaw.

Inspired by the character of the same name in the ITV soap – played by Pat Phoenix from 1960-1973 and 1976-1984 – Elsie is a bold, resourceful, young woman determined to escape her brutal, dull life and make things better for herself.

The later novels zero in on the life of other residents during the Second World War, including pub landlady Annie Walker and Corrie's matriarch Ena Sharples' daughter Vera.

Coronation Street airs on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays from 7.30pm on ITV.
