Coronation Street has confirmed that Gail Rodwell will return to Weatherfield next week.
Previewing the upcoming episodes on the ITV website, the soap revealed that Helen Worth's popular character will be seen back from her extended break in Thailand, only to see a teary Bethany Platt (Lucy Fallon) as she gets out of the taxi.
Bethany is upset after being confronted by Tracy Barlow (Kate Ford) and Sally Metcalfe (Sally Dynevor) over her feelings for Daniel Osbourne (Rob Mallard).
Gail was last seen fleeing to Bangkok, Thailand during the summer following David Platt and Nick Tilsley's arrests.
Meanwhile, Sinead Tinker star Katie McGlynn has teased "a lot of drama" will happen in the lead-up to her character's death.
"Everyone assumes that it's just going to be a peaceful death, and it is but there's always drama leading up to it," she said.
