Coronation Street will see Gemma Winter accuse Chesney Brown of fancying her mother Bernie.
In scenes airing next week, Bernie (Jane Hazlegrove) arrives on the cobbles – just when Chesney (Sam Aston) admits to Gemma (Dolly-Rose Campbell) that he still loves her and is about to kiss her.
Bernie tells Gemma that she's desperate for money as she's about to be made homeless.
Gemma and Chesney had earlier been interviewed by Radio Weatherfield about their quadruplets, with listeners making donations to help with the pair's financial situation in raising the babies.
Chesney is angry when Gemma tells Bernie to take the money from the collection for herself, and he refuses to let it happen.
Paul (Peter Ash) finds out Bernie is in Weatherfield and storms out, telling Gemma that things will end badly with their mother around.

Chesney later tells Gemma that Bernie can stay at his place and he will sleep on the sofa. But the living situation gets awkward – firstly, Bernie suggests that they share the bed, and then on another day she appears in the kitchen naked and says they should spend the day together in the bedroom.
Chesney tells Paul all about Bernie's advances, and Paul speaks with Bernie, demanding that she behave.
However, Bernie responds by lying to Gemma and claiming that Chesney is the one who fancies her. Chesney is shocked when Gemma accuses him of fancying Bernie, and insists that Bernie is the one who's been making him feel uncomfortable.
Paul steps in and tries to convince Gemma that this is Bernie causing trouble, but Gemma remains uncertain and decides to move in with Chesney and Bernie to keep an eye on them.
Coronation Street airs Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays at 7.30pm and 8.30pm on ITV.
