"No break clause has been triggered and TV3 is fully committed to the series well into the future," a TV3 spokesperson told Digital Spy.

"Season 5 is currently in production, the programme is in the schedule into 2018 and BAI and other international partners continue [to] support the show.

Red Rock launched on TV3 in Ireland in 2015 to widespread acclaim, and airs in a daytime slot on BBC One.

Based around Red Rock's local Garda Station in a fictional seaside town in Dublin, the show charts the lives of the local community through the eyes of those who police it and centres on two feuding local families - the Kielys and the Hennessys.
