The shocking final moments of Red Rock's season finale stunned viewers tonight (June 4).
The season ender concluded with police offer Adrijan Kosos (Boyko Krastanov) being struck by a car as he was interrogating a suspect on the street.
TV3 promised a stunning finale for the new soap, even releasing a video of celebrities Sean Bean and Louis Walsh's jaw-dropping reactions to the clip.
Veteran television director Rob Burke has gone in-depth into how he crafted the shocking finale moments of Red Rock's debut season.
"My first reaction when reading the scene was, I love a challenge but how are we gonna do this?" he recalled.
"Luckily, we have a great team behind the scenes at Red Rock and one of the editors pitched a solution that involved a bit of VFX work where we splice two shots together, one shot with Adrijan and no car and then another without Adrijan but with the car driving past.

"So, in the end, it was just a matter of sitting down with the DOP (director of photography) and post-production team to make sure we were all on the same page and got it shot in a manner that would allow us to hide the edit between the two shots. I was thrilled with the outcome and I hope that people enjoyed the shock factor."
Red Rock returns to TV3 in Ireland on Wednesday, September 2.
