The news was confirmed by Kensington Palace this evening (July 24), with the official Clarence House Twitter account also making the announcement online.
The third in line to the throne will be known as His Royal Highness Prince George of Cambridge.
George had been the bookies' favourite for the prince's first name, and there have been six British monarchs that used the name.
