Demi Lovato is "awake" after being rushed to a Los Angeles hospital for a medical emergency.
Initial reports suggested that emergency service workers responded to a drug-related health crisis at the 'Skyscraper' singer's home in Hollywood on Tuesday (July 24) and transported her to a nearby medical centre for further treatment, according to People. Her spokesperson has since released a statement on behalf of the family.
"Demi is awake and with her family, who want to express thanks to everyone for the love, prayers and support," her representative said. "Some of the information being reported is incorrect and they respectfully ask for privacy and not speculation, as her health and recovery is the most important thing right now."
A police spokesperson had previously confirmed: "LAPD and LAFD responded to a medical emergency at the 8000 block of Laurel View Driver at 11.40am."
Digital Spy has reached out to Lovato's representatives for more information about her condition.
Lovato was scheduled to appear on Tuesday's episode of the Jamie Foxx-hosted game show Beat Shazam, but network Fox has replaced the episode, saying in a statement: "Our thoughts go out to Demi and her family." She filmed her instalment last year.

Her reported hospitalisation comes one month after the 25-year-old musician released her latest single 'Sober', in which she sings about her "truth" of struggling to stay sober.
"Momma I'm so sorry I'm not sober anymore / And Daddy please forgive me for the drinks spilled on the floor," Lovato pleads in the chorus. "To the ones who never left me, we've been down this road before / I'm so sorry, I'm not sober anymore."
In March 2017, Lovato had celebrated five years of sobriety, after famously putting her career on hold at the height of her early music and acting success in the early 2010s in order to stay in a sober living facility.
"I knew that I had a lot of life ahead of me but one of the main reasons of getting sober was so that I could be around my little sister because my mum and dad [said I couldn't be around her] if I was doing stuff," she said last year.
Lovato has continued to extend a helping hand to others who have struggled with substance and/or mental health issues by offering free therapy and wellness workshops to fans attending her concerts.
