The Mandalorian and Grogu is out now in cinemas and if you're avoiding the sun this weekend in the UK, you might be wondering how long the new Star Wars movie is if you're planning a double-bill in cinemas.

Co-written by Jon Favreau (who also directed) with Dave Filoni and Noah Kloor, the movie sees Pedro Pascal's Din Djarin and his adorable ward Grogu (aka Baby Yoda) being tasked with a perilous mission that involves Jabba the Hutt's son Rotta (voiced by Jeremy Allen White).

The Mandalorian and Grogu has a confirmed runtime of 132 minutes, making it the shortest Star Wars movie to be released in the past 43 years – just one minute longer than 1983's Episode VI: Return of the Jedi, which clocked in at 131 minutes.

For the sake of classification, in a runtime-based ranking of the Star Wars films, The Mandalorian and Grogu's runtime of two hours and 12 minutes slots it in right before Return of the Jedi and after Rogue One: A Star Wars Story, closing in at 133 minutes.

If you want to shave a few minutes off that runtime, The Mandalorian and Grogu doesn't have any credit scenes, so you could leave as soon as the credits start and not miss anything important.
