Comedian and entertainment icon Eddie Izzard has today completed one of the most gruelling Sport Relief challenges to date.

The 54-year-old ran 27 marathons in 27 days (that's over 700 miles) across South Africa and finished today with a double marathon. Talk about total dedication.

Having battled exhaustion, dehydration and sunstroke to complete the ballsy task, Izzard was reeling after completing this afternoon.

He said: "I always knew I'd be back. When I didn't make it in 2012 I knew I'd be back. I can't stand upright, I have a huge blister and I'm exhausted. But I'm delighted."

Upon crossing the finishing line, Izzard has raised a seriously whopping £1,351,722 for Sport Relief.
