Timothy West has been forced to pick a side - EastEnders or Coronation Street.
Appearing on Piers Morgan's Life Stories, the host probed him on which soap he thought was the best, having worked on both.
"I don't think they actually do the same thing," he answered, diplomatically. "Coronation Street is funnier – I like that. EastEnders deals with more up-to-date subjects and that's good."
However, when pushed by Morgan as to which he would watch for the rest of his life if he could only pick one, it was EastEnders that came out on top.
"I think I'd watch EastEnders because I know more about it now."
West joined the Corrie cast in 2013 as Eric Babbage and was then cast in EastEnders as Stanley Carter the following year. His character passed away in April of prostate cancer.

"Oh he's lovely," West said. "I mean he swears like a trooper, but of course
we don't swear on EastEnders so he could be doing all the 'f' and 'c' words and then go (on set and say), 'Oh, goodness me, that's a mess, what have you been doing here?'"
