The latest RAJAR figures are in, and it's another strong showing from Capital.

The report, which totals up radio listeners per quarter, has revealed that the Global-owned station still has the most popular breakfast show in London.

The Capital London Breakfast Show - fronted by Dave Berry, George Shelley and Lilah Parsons - has over 1 million listeners in the capital city tuning in every week, beating out all commercial rivals and main competitor Nick Grimshaw on BBC Radio 1.

Grimshaw has dropped 184,000 across the UK, with a total audience of 5.24m a week.

Capital London as a station reaches 2m people a week, while all of the Capital stations added together reach 8.7m pairs of ears weekly.

Throughout the UK, BBC Radio 1 hits 9.7m, which is an improvement on the 9.5m from last quarter - the station's lowest listenership since 2003.

Ben Cooper, Controller Radio 1 & 1Xtra, said: "Reaching 11 million people and putting on a further half a million 10-24 year olds shows that Radio 1 is doing a great job for young listeners, although as ever, RAJAR figures are only part of the picture and should be seen alongside the increase to 1.5 million views a day on our YouTube channel and our 8.5 million users on social media."

BBC Radio 2, however, has fallen slightly, from 15.2 to 15.1m listeners. Breakfast DJ Chris Evans has lost 414,000 this quarter, from 9.47m to 9.05m a week.

Elsewhere, the relatively new station Radio X is heard by 1.3m people per week, its highest ever ratings. Breakfast host Chris Moyles, though, has lost 36,000 listeners in London, but added 9,000 nationally.

And 6 Music is still the most listened-to digital-only station, also taking its highest ever reach with 2.3m.
